Specifically, on April 29, 2003 from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m,. Taiwanese heritage was celebrated through a special outdoor display erected at the Sather Gate Crescent. This daytime event featured Taiwanese traditional and contemporary music and a display that presented pictures of Taiwan's landmarks, indigenous peoples and natural scenery. These pictures of Taiwan were shown on a cup design of "po-pa," a Taiwanese invention also known as pearl milk tea. A few phrases romanized in Taiwanese were alao presented.
